Update #6

Cor Deo’s progress toward launch involves lots of little steps.  Yet these are exciting steps because each one is an answer to prayer.  Thank you for praying with us!

Step by Step

Join the conversation… the Cor Deo Blog is coming soon!  The team will be engaging in some online conversation via the new Cor Deo blog.  We’ll let you know once it is up and running, and then you will be able to join the conversation by commenting on the blog, or via facebook and twitter.  Watch this space!

Praise the Lord that the Charity Commission has accepted Cor Deo’s application.  We should have our registered charity number in the next couple of weeks.

We have been praying for the past year about where to locate Cor Deo.  We are excited that God has answered and we have a confirmed location.  We have received a very warm welcome from a church in Chippenham, Wiltshire.  Cor Deo will not be a ministry of that church, but will be graciously hosted at their facility.  This means that the programme is within an hour’s drive of Bristol, Bath, Swindon, Newport, Cirencester, and Newbury, and well within 90 minutes of Cardiff, Gloucester, Cheltenham, Salisbury and Reading.  (For students coming from further afield, we will be helping to arrange accommodation.)

Cor Deo’s board of trustees – The initial board consisted of Peter, Ron and Dr Mike Reeves of UCCF.  Mike has been a great blessing and encouragement to us over the past months.  We recently were able to confirm another board member, Jeremy Roberts of St Albans.  Jeremy adds something new to the team in respect to his business experience as a management consultant, as well as church leadership experience (former elder at Spicer Street Church and now involved in a church plant).  Jeremy is a long-time friend of Ron’s and shares the team’s passion for Bible saturation and multiplying ministry that shares God’s heart.  We are delighted to welcome Jeremy to the board!

Discover Cor Deo

Our first “open day” is coming up this Saturday, the 3rd of July.  This is an opportunity for people to meet the mentors and find out more about Cor Deo.  There is no charge for the day and lunch will be provided.  We’re meeting in central London.  Please would you pass on the invitation to any who might be interested (perhaps via facebook or email – including the link to www.cordeo.org.uk) and please pray for us to have a good day together this Saturday!

Other Points for Prayer

As well as the Discover Cor Deo day this week, please continue to pray for participants to hear about Cor Deo, and for the practical needs as we prepare for launch.  More info to follow next month . . .

For the team,

Peter
