The New Year has started with a bang for us at Cor Deo! After three years in our last venue (for which we want to express our heartfelt thanks to the church for their generosity to us), we have now moved into a new home for the ministry. We want to praise God for His blessing in this. And we want to invite you to come visit for one of our Intensives!
Despite having only three weeks to find a new home for Cor Deo, we are thrilled with how things worked out. We saw about ten possible venues. All of them had significant drawbacks and limitations. We also were told that getting into a premises would take weeks or even months due to delays with solicitors, etc. On top of that we had the complexity of Christmas with lots of people out of their office for almost two weeks. When it felt like every potential venue turned out to be unworkable, we were shown one last place and we knew it was the place for us. Plenty of space, ideal internal layout, and friendly landlord.
With alternative temporary arrangements in place as we anticipated having to wait a couple of months . . . we were in within a week! So we have had friends painting and preparing the venue, we have been able to find the furniture we need and we were in before this week’s Intensive! Join us in thanking God for this tremendous provision for us.
We would love to show you around at one of our forthcoming Intensives:
24-28th of March – join our full-time team for a week on “Church & Trinity” which includes a heart-warming study of Ephesians, theological history and probing the relevance of it all for today. Our Intensives start with lunch on Monday and end with lunch on Friday. We can help with local accommodation or B&B suggestions.
11-15th of August – we are guarding spaces for teachers and students who haven’t been able to attend in the past, but if you are interested, there are planty of spaces for others too. This will be the standard “Relational Faith” Intensive, with Ron, Peter and David leading.
8-12th of September – this will be a “level 2” Intensive moving beyond the ground covered in our “Relational Faith” course. If you have attended an Intensive or a mini-Intensive before, come and join us for this next step. Ron and David will be taking the primary lead, although Peter will be involved too.
If you would like to reserve your place, or if you have any questions, please email Mike.
Please pray for the new team as we come together on Tuesday for the full-time programme 2014. The team consists of Jake, Paul, Phil, Brian and Charlie, as well as Mike, David, Peter and Ron. Please pray for us to connect quickly and thrive in this season of mentoring, study, ministry and growth.
Thank you for partnering with us in prayer. We believe we have seen God clearly at work in the preparations for 2014 and we are excited to discover what He has in store for us.
Delighted by God,
Peter for the Cor Deo team
