Update #43 – August 2013

cdfmThe summer is quickly sliding by and we will soon be into September.  We hope that this summer has been a time of refreshing for you.  At the end of July we enjoyed a great two-day Youth Mini-Intensive.  It was fun to wrestle with the biggest four questions together with a group who seemed to grasp what we discussed concerning God, humanity, sin and grace – the building blocks of theology and worldview!

Thank you for praying for the ministry of Cor Deo.  Ron is busy back in the US, while David and Peter are both travelling in Europe during August.  Please pray for Mike Chalmers as he continues to prayerfully pursue the support he needs to come and work with Cor Deo in a key support role later in the year.  If you would like to receive his updates, or find out more about his support needs, please email him. Please pray for us next month as we have a full Intensive hot on the heels of an Invitational (these are two day events for people who have already been on an Intensive or full-time course – there are still spaces on the Invitational if you have not yet responded to the invitation).

There is plenty coming up in the next months, please get in touch if you’d like to reserve a place at any of these:

Preacher’s Intensive – 11-15th Nov, 2013.  Peter, Huw Williams and David Searight will be leading a special Cor Deo Intensive for preachers in November.  We will meet from Monday through Friday.  For more information, please go to the Events page on the website and please contact us if you have any questions or would like to reserve a place.  (Please note: spaces are limited and this Intensive is reserved for those who are involved in some sort of preaching ministry.)

Church History Mini-Intensive: Luther and the Bible – 22-23rd November, 2013. We know how Luther struggled in his early monastic days. Staupitz, as a remedy, sent Luther off to study the Bible. Luther’s role in the Reformation grew out of that study. In our two-days together we will look at Luther’s use of the Bible in his Heidelberg Disputation, in his commentary on Galatians, and his use of the book of Romans. It was the fuel for the Reformation. This Mini-Intensive will be led by Ron, Peter and David. There is more information on the Events page on the website and please contact us if you have any questions or would like to reserve a place.

Intensive – A Relational Faith. We have a normal Intensive coming up in January 2014, please email for more information.

Enjoying our good God together,

Peter for the team
