It has been a great start to the new year at Cor Deo. We had a full group of great folks for the January Intensive, then the full-time team came together the next week, and the Searights arrived to work with us a few days later. Now we are already a quarter of the way through the programme–time goes so fast!
The team that God has brought together for this year have really connected well with each other. David F is local, taking a career break from engineering. Luca is hoping to return to Italy after Cor Deo to be involved in church planting. Mike has worked with UCCF for several years as a staff worker before joining us. Fraser is pastoring a vibrant church in Swindon. David D is transitioning from years of missionary work in Japan back into the UK context. Matt was serving on the OM ship and hopes to end up in pastoral ministry. Please pray for these men to thrive in this unique season of life.
We have already been involved in various other ministries this year. Ron was speaking at Cornhill Scotland last Friday, Peter took some of the men as he spoke at UCCF’s Forum weekend to the new London CU leaders. Ron was recently speaking in Slovenia, and we have ministry trips coming up to Turin, Brussels, and Poland (where Peter and Huw Williams will be leading the Bible Teacher’s Network at the European Leadership Forum). Lots going on, we value your prayer support!
For your prayers:
* Ron is heading over to Serbia for a weekend of ministry this coming Saturday.
* We have our Cor Deo reunion coming up in March (15th-17th). We are eagerly anticipating renewing fellowship with Cor Deo participants from the previous two full-time teams. Pray for this to be a genuinely heart-stirring weekend for us all.
* Our next Intensive at the end of April is full – prayer appreciated for this to be a life changing week. However, we are planning another one in September. Please contact us if you might be interested in participating.
* Yesterday the Cor Deo trustees met and we were so encouraged as we reflected on all that God has done this far, and the potential as we seek to move forward in the work. Please pray for wisdom and boldness as we look for the best ways to serve the God who delights us so much!
Thank you for standing with us in prayer!
Peter & Ron, for the team
PS We mentioned this last time, but just in case you missed it. We have been given a matching grant from a trust that will double any gifts that come in to Cor Deo in connection with growing the leadership team (bringing on David Searight this year, as well as introducing Huw to role we have at ELF). If you would like to help, please use any of the means listed on the Partner page of our site – click here to go there.
