I originally wrote this update on a flight from Portland to Vancouver. Now, after more than a week back in England, I am finally getting it sent. As a family we enjoyed being in the Pacific Northwest over the summer. It was great to take Cor Deo international with our first overseas Intensive. During the summer travels it was great to share conversation with people who are wanting to implement aspects of our training methodology in their own contexts.
One morning I was lining up with some of my children to get into a leisure complex in central Oregon. Suddenly I heard two people calling my name. It was Derek and Michael, two great friends that I haven’t seen for years. What a surprise! One had come across the country to spend time with the other. Both are absolutely on the same page as us at Cor Deo, and it was a delight to catch up together and share the encouragements we’ve had since launching the ministry.
This next week Ron will be following us back across the Atlantic as we have our first “Cor Deo Invitational” at the end of the week. We want to be able to follow up with folks who have participated in either the full-time programme or an Intensive. It looks like we have about fifteen joining us for this two-day event. We will be looking at 2Corinthians 1-5, some of Jonathan Edwards’ writings, and how this all influences our view of personal spirituality and ministry.
Next year’s full-time programme is not too far off now. We still have some spaces available if you know any potential candidates.
We really appreciate your prayers for the Invitational, for God to bring the team together for 2013, and for the partnerships we still need to form to make the European Leadership Forum ministry move forward next summer (please contact us if you’d like to know more about that).
Thank you for standing with us!
