Update #19 – Mini-Update (April 2011)

The first evening class series in Habakkuk came to its conclusion this week.  We had good numbers (30-40) for the four evenings together and many were very challenged by the personal relevance of this great little book.  Will we be puffed up in ourselves or humbly trusting God when we face significant challenges?

Some have been requesting a picture of the team this year and we finally got our act together just in time for the Easter break.

Back row: Mark, Alan, Sam, Chris, Mike and Paul
Front row: Huw, Ron, Peter and Jonathan

We value your prayers as we separate for the two week break over Easter.  Mark is joining Peter for a few days of teaching in Central Asia; Sam is on his way to Brazil as I type this to be with his girlfriend and meet her family; Chris is heading to Essex to be with his fiancee’s family; Mike is off to Spring Harvest to serve on the sound desk; Paul is visiting family and friends; Huw is off to Italy for a week of preaching and serving in the church he will be joining later in the year as pastor; Ron is flying back to the US today to speak in his home church; and Jonathan is in the Philippines on a mission trip.

I think we are all ready for a break, but also looking forward to regathering for the second half of this Cor Deo season in the first days of May.  We are starting to promote the London conference (4th of June) in earnest, as well as the next evening class and the first Cor Deo Intensive.  This will be between 26-30th of September, here in Chippenham, and a great opportunity to get a one-week taste of the various elements of Cor Deo training.  Please check this page for more information and register by email if you would like to join us.  Places will be limited for the Intensive, so please register as soon as you decide to put it in your schedule.  Please note that there are no restrictions on who can join us for any of these opportunities (18 or 88, male or female, etc.)

Thanks for standing with us in prayer,

Peter for the team
