The trips to Poland and the Netherlands went well as far as ministry was concerned. We were very thankful that Chris made it safely back from Amsterdam, albeit ahead of schedule! He felt uncomfortable throughout the Friday and ended up going in to the hospital at 1am on Saturday. He was able to fly home to the UK and had his appendix safely removed that morning. After convalescing for a week, it is great to have Chris back with us and the whole team back together this week!
We began our first set of evening classes last week and had the second session yesterday. It was great to have 40 people together from various churches in the area and some students from Bath CU. Together we are studying the dynamic little book of Habakkuk. Ron pointed out that God is not like fine china, but He is robust enough to handle the reality of our complaints and concerns – but do we speak as boldly to God as Habakkuk did?
This weekend I (Peter) am speaking at a missions conference here in Chippenham on Saturday, followed by parts 3 and 4 of my series in Mark at the church. Ron will be in London for the weekend. We all really value your prayers for us as a team, both in our studies, and in our ministries. Please also pray for next year’s team, since people who may join us next year are currently considering their options. We have one potential participant for 2012 joining us next Wednesday for the day.
PS If you are able to join us in London on the 4th of June, we would be delighted to see you at our Cor Deo day conference – Delighted By God: Heartfelt Christianity (hosted by All Souls, Langham Place). We will get the promotional flyer out soon and would really appreciate your help in spreading the word about this event.
