When you read the Bible and are captivated by God's love for you, it is impossible to see it any longer as "a set of stale propositions." It becomes about the relationship with the One who loves you, and you delight in every word He has to say! For nearly 40 years I read the Bible regularly out of a sense of duty and "spiritual discipline" but that is no longer the case. For me, the change came during a time of personal crisis, when I called out to the Lord, perhaps with a sense of total dependence that I had never before experienced. I can attest to the truth of God's promise in the Bible that if we seek Him with all our hearts, we will find Him. And where did I find him? On every page of the Book He has written! And, it has been a delight ever since!
