I AM – THE ETERNAL GOD

I am who I am, the eternal Lord.
I am not the ‘I was’, nor the ‘I will be.’
For now I am with you, true to my word
And I show you myself, so you can know me.

I am who I am, I know you by name;
Come into my presence with wonder and awe.
For I’m holy and true, always the same,
And I’m the God of your fathers, certain and sure.

I am who I am, the Lord God who calls –
I’ve chosen to use you to work out my will.
I know you are weak, I know you can fall,
But I will be with you, trust and be still!

I am who I am, the Father who cares;
I see all who suffer, I feel the deep pain.
With love and concern I watch all the tears,
And I’m waiting the time to step in once again.

I am who I am and I do not move
Until in my wisdom, each part is in place.
My might and my power to you I will prove,
I’m with you to show you my glory and grace.

I am who I am, the great God of all –
I want you to know me, to love and obey.
Not one can resist, I stand in control,
So look for the signs of my presence each day.

I am who I am, don’t grieve what has gone,
Nor look to the future with worry and dread;
I am who I am, the God who alone
Is with you each moment, so trust me instead.
